Shrimp/Prawn together with 'Vitamin C' could be deadly!

I've been sitting here in front of my computer screen for the longest time thinking of something to write when suddenly I just remembered an email I received before that has something to do with our dinner....shrimps!

It says that eating shrimps/prawns while taking vitamin C could turn into arsenic poising! Arsenic is a highly toxic substance which is very fatal to our health and could seriously cause death. I just want to share this piece of info to warn my readers and at the same time validate if it is really true.

FYI....

YOU MAY POISON YOURSELF ACCIDENTALLY!

Taiwan, a woman suddenly died unexpectedly with signs of bleeding from her ears, nose, month & eyes. After a preliminary autopsy it was diagnosed death due to arsenic poisoning death. Where did the arsenic come from?

The police launched an in-depth and extensive investigation. A medical school professor was invited to come to solve the case. The professor carefully looked at the contents from the deceased's stomach, in less than half an hour, the mystery was solved. The professor said: 'The deceased did not commit suicide and neither was she murdered, she died of accidental death due to ignorance!'

Everyone was puzzled, why accidental death? The arsenic is of the U.S. military for carrying rice seedlings H Gao. The professor said: 'The arsenic is produced in the stomach of the deceased.' The deceased used to take 'Vitamin C' everyday, which in itself is not a problem. The problem was that she ate a large portion of shrimp/prawn during dinner. Eating shrimp/prawn is not the problem that's why nothing happened to her family ever though they took the same shrimp/prawn. However at the same time the deceased also took 'vitamin C', that is where the problem is!

Researchers at the University of Chicago in the United States, found through experiments, food such as soft-shell shrimp/prawn contains a much higher concentration of - five potassium arsenic compounds.

Such fresh food by itself has no toxic effects on the human body! However, in taking 'vitamin C', due to the chemical reaction, the original non-toxic - five potassium arsenic (As anhydride, also known as arsenic oxide, the chemical formula for As205) changed to a three potassium toxic arsenic (ADB arsenic anhydride), also known as arsenic trioxide, a chemical formula (As203), which is commonly known as arsenic to the public!

Arsenic poisoning have magma role and can cause paralysis to the small blood vessels, "mercapto Jimei"??, inhibits the activity of the liver and fat necrosis change Hepatic Lobules Centre, heart, liver, kidney, intestine congestion, epithelial cell necrosis, telangiectasia. Therefore, a person who dies of arsenic poisoning will shows signs of bleeding from the ears, nose, mouth & eyes.

Therefore, as a precautionary measure, DO NOT not take shrimp/prawn when taking 'vitamin C'.

I'm no expert regarding this matter but talking about health, I think just have to let go of my vitamin C supplements than giving up on shrimps.... can't help it...I just love sea foods... :)

Boost your immune system

We've all been alarmed with the rampant spread of the Swine Flu Virus. Rightly because it is highly contagious and very fatal if not treated timely and well. With this type of attack, there's no way other way to battle but keep our immune system in full good condition.

Everyday we go out of our homes on our way to work, school or just trying to run an errand we encounter different forms of bacterias and viruses which post us greater risk of acquiring various illnesses. The ever-changing weather condition also contributes to the setting in of cough, colds, fever and flu. Adding to that, there's also the heavy load of stress we have to face everyday which further lowers our immune system and increases our chances of getting sick.

We can't help but deal with it and the most effective way is strengthen our immune system. Here's some helpful tips to boost our immune system I read from the article of Victoria Anisman-Reiner.
  • Drink your lemons. Take fresh juices the natural way. Drink juice from freshly squeezed fruits and not coming from preserved products or powdered form juices.
  • Get a good night's sleep of 8-10 hrs. A very simple tip yet so hard to achieve especially when you're working on a graveyard shift.
  • Give your body an herbal boost through herbal supplements to help your body fight such illnesses.
  • Eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and protein,
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Stop drinking coffee. This is the hard part because I just love coffee. Maybe if you can't totally eliminate coffee in your system then try to limit your intake to 1-2 cups a day.
  • Exercise! Spend some time outside of your homes and give your muscles something to do. For me walking is the best form of exercise. Try brisk walking early in the morning for a period of 30-60 minutes. it's a good start.
  • Nurture yourself. Definitely! After a hard day's work you also need to pamper yourself afterward. Love yourself go out with friends or treat yourself to nice nice massage. When you're in the state of depression and emotions go haywire seek help with your friends and family.

Keeping up with age

Gaining weight has never been a problem with me. Since I was a child I've been slim and fit and didn't have to deal with being overweight. Thanks to my fast metabolism that no matter how much I eat or how often I devour food I really don't gain weight.

I could eat a load of carbohydrates and fatty foods all at the same time and still remain slim. My friends often ask me where do I place all the food I eat. I simply say to them that I'm just blessed with fast metabolism so there's no time for excess fats to stay inside my body.

Those were my happy days. Because now, my metabolism doesn't work as fast as before. I can now feel that I am slowly gaining weight and piling some fats along my abdomen. Gosh! I hate this part. Before I have a flat tummy but now... It's not that flat anymore. I guess this is also brought about by the aging process. I must admit that when you're getting older, you're body system also declines and the system that works faster before may not work as fast anymore.

However I'm still thankful because I am still within my normal body mass index. Although there are times I wish for those days when I got the chance to enter into the modeling career because of my slender and tall body. I think with proper discipline and perseverance I could still achieve my model body in time. But if not, I am just happy being a little curvy here and there just as long as I am healthy and free from any serious diseases which is the most important thing.
