Need to Recharge

I've been up so late these couple of days and there is nothing more I wish than to sleep all day and recharge. It seems that all my energy has been drained. So much has happened this week... My brother-in-law arrived...and when he comes home, we all go to their place and celebrate. With the Christmas Season in the air...there are so many parties to attend, friends to catch up with, plus I have to go work at the hospital.. Whew! Wish I could give up the last one.lol It really consumes all my energy. But it's out of the option. I am just thankful that my family and friends are always around to give me a boost of strength whenever I need one. I'm pretty sure I am not the only one having so much trouble with their demanding schedules. Now is the busiest season of the year so...I think I shouldn't be complaining. Right! :)

Work Environment

They say that a major factor in an employee's performance is due to the condition of the work environment. I totally agree with this! I am really at my best performance when I am happily working. It means I am enjoying the company of my co-workers, although the workload can become frustratingly so demamding, but somehow you are able to conquer the day with a smile. Reunited at New Moon

It was really a reunion for me and my friends last Saturday as we all met together for the first showing day of the Twilight Saga, "New Moon". It 's been ages since we last saw a movie together. Shiela, Gemma (a.k.a. Madam), Xenia, Ronald, and Anime were all present. We had a hard time meeting each other because of our schedules... Shiela has been out of the country while the rest have been busy with their own work. Fortunately, yesterday we were all free except for me... I had to come from an 8-hour-duty. Whew! It was really tiresome and annoying ... my schedule was changed at the last minute, but I had to come because our movie date was already set. And I'm glad I did! We had a wonderful time and the movie was really great. I absolutely enjoyed the movie that I don't want it to end. It was filled with new and very interesting characters. It was surprising to see Dakota Fanning in the movie... And after you watch it, you'll definitely look forward for the next saga.

How do I?

It's so easy to give in and so damn hard to hold on when things just keep falling apart. I often say to myself --- everything is going to change for the better. As mush as possible, I try to look at the brighter side in every situation. But what if there's not even a dim light to see.... Hmmm just exaggerating. :) Actually, I'm faced with a problem of trying to figure out how to save my toenails from dying after wearing ill-fitted shoes during my 8-hour duty. Signs of poor circulation are showing as evidenced by purplish nails. :( Hope I can save them....

Just Can't Resist

I told myself never to get into one of those FB games.... One time I got so curious why all of my friends and getting addict playing with FarmTown, farmville, Cafe world, etc.....so I decided why don't I give it a try. That's when I got hooked and forgot all about my vendetta. Yup...I am admittedly one of those Farm Town addicts. I don't know how or when...but I just realized that I just can't resist playing it knowning that my crops are ready for harvest!!! Haha... So to all of those curious, I suggest don't bother trying it... You might end up like me... :)

Whew! Thank God it's Friday! I can't wait for the week to finally end. I've been up so early in the morning everyday since I started my hospital duty. So please pardon me if I've been missing in blogging.... I just didn't have the time nor the energy to do it. Now, I just badly need a DAY OFF. My friends are inviting me to go into swimming tomorrow.... It's soo tempting and I might just take their invitation. Now, I'm soo looking forward to spending my coming weekend :)

I'm Back!

It's been a while since I last made my post, but I'm soo glad I'm finally back! When I checked my PR, I got a 1. Wow! I thought it'll never come...I was losing hope already, waiting for it to come that I almost gave up and got tired of blog hopping. I even contemplated that ...maybe blogging is just not for me... Well, I'm really happy I didn't give this up. I know I have a long way to go, but PR1 is a good start, I think. :)

I've been absent in the blogosphere for quite some time because I also had to deal some important matter. And now that I'm back... I feel I'm becoming rustic...lol. Maybe just a few more days then I'm back on track. :)

I like to think that somehow I give inspiration to other people by sharing triumphant experiences and heartwarming stories behind trials and difficulties. Although, I must admit that sometimes or should I say most often, it's so hard to draw inspiration when I'm feeling down and depressed. And so I have this comical motto with me, a tag line taken from Manny Pacquiao's commercial --- "Tink Positib, Wag kang Aayaw" ( Think Positive, Never Say No!). I always say this line to myself whenever things don't go my way. More importantly, I have my family and friends to fuel inspiration in me. :)

In The Midst of Tragedy, Bayanihan Spirit Reigns

It was totally heartbreaking and haunting to witness the cries and pleas of the victims of typhoon Ondoy. Seeing them fight for own their lives in order to survive, you can't help but feel almost helpless. The disastrous typhoon has immensely ravaged the people in Manila and left everyone a traumatic experience which knows no status in life may they be rich or poor, famous or ordinary men.

Despite the devastating calamity which has befallen in our country, some good things do still exist. And this is the "Bayanihan Spirit". Unity reigned and led everyone to lend their hands and gave a piece of them all for helping the poor victims. Filipinos here and abroad, and even foreigners, reached out and did their share in answering the call for help. Donations continuously poured in and prayers were offered. Well-known celebrities like Gerald Anderson , Cesar Montano and other personalities didn't mind diving into the deep and dangerous flood water in order to rescue and save lives. This is truly an inspiration and a valuable trait, we Filipinos should all be proud of.

My Way of Enjoying Durian

Durian Fruit

Our city is known for its exotic fruit, Durian. A lot of people would describe it as, "Looks like hell but tastes like heaven". I would agree on the first part of the statement but not about -- tastes like heaven. :) Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of durian nor one of those who are craving to eat it just like my sister, who can consume a whole fruit in just one sitting. It has a very strong smell and a unique taste that you could just either love or hate. On my part, I don't mind about the strong smell, but I just can't eat the fruit in its raw form. And so the only way for me to enjoy it is through this.....

Durian Float

This is made just like the mango float. But instead of lining the sliced mangoes in another layer, you have to mix the durian fruit together with the cream and milk mixture. For those who don't eat durian, you might want to try this and I can assure you, you will defiitely enjoy it. :)

Fun and Sugar Overload

We had so much FUN and SUGAR!!! Last Sept. 6, we got together with my long time friends to celebrate the birthday of our dear friend Rosemarie. It was a spur of the moment plan. Fortunately it was holiday the following day so it wasn't that difficult to plan. We decided to meet at Theresa's house since it's the most accessible place. Apple, the official event organizer in our group, told us to bring food then we'll just share once we get there.

You know, I had so much difficulty deciding on what to bring...so in the end I just brought myself. lol I told them my presence and moral support would be more than enough. haha. Anyway we're going to be there to catch up with what's happening to this and that, and have some bonding moments. True enough, we enjoyed the party with just music, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, ice cream and the delectable mango cake from Goldilocks (courtesy by Apple).

Time to Dream

I must admit that I'm a person who habitually gets late and if there is a drug of choice to treat such disease I would certainly take it. :) No question about it! It's like a chronic illness that I have been struggling to overcome. Lucky for me, there hasn't been any serious damage so far which resulted from this bad habit of mine. It started during my high school days that got severe in college. I remember having missed a quiz and been assigned in the most toxic area at the ER as a nursing student all for being late. But seriously, I want to change this negative trait because I know how frustrating, disappointing, humiliating and troublesome it is to the other person who is on the opposite end. Gradually, I am taking steps to avoid being late and one action I'm taking is to always wear my watch so there's no more reason for me to miss time.

I usually wear trendy colorful watches that would readily fit my rugged attire. But ultimately, I dream of owning an exquisite genuine luxury Rolex watch. Kadayawan Festival

Davao City just celebrated its 24th annual Kadayawan festival last August 17 -23, 2009. It was a week long celebration filled with music, fun and festivity. This big event is highly anticipated not only by the Dabawenyos but at the same time by a lot of foreign visitors and balikbayans to witness the spectacle of Floral Float Parade and Indak Indak sa Kadalanan, a dance competition along the streets to showcase Davao's beautiful tradition and culture. Here are some of the amazing photos taken by Mr. Richard Padillo, a CPA by profession and takes photography as his hobby .

Scent - An Essential Accessory

Perfume, aside from being one of the popular choices of gifts, has certainly become an essential accessory in our daily lives. Except for those unfortunate ones who have allergies with it like my mom, wearing your own favorite Scent has been a part of our routines before going to work, attending class or joining a very important event. You just need to wear the right kind of perfume or cologne to get the right kind of impression. I know of someone who got the best out of his perfume when he was hired after a job interview because he was so damned smelling good. :) A friend of mine was noticed by a man because of her sexy smelling cologne. In my case, there was this one time that I got stopped by a certain guy because of the perfume I was wearing. He told me he liked my perfume a lot because the scent really lingers and then he asked me the perfume's brand name. I was quite taken by surprise and the funny thing about it was that the guy turned out to be a gay. lol.

When it comes to selecting my own brand of perfume, I personally prefer one that is light and fresh. A touch of floral and fruity fragrance close to nature is ideal to my liking. And my favorite is Burberry. It has a fresh and sensual fragrance with essence of black currant, green apple, peach and marigold just perfect for daytime use. The type of perfume to use could vary according to the time of day or kind of occasion you are going to. But no matter what it is I would still go for fragrances that are not too strong or overpowering.

Movie Time

I just love weekends! It's the best time for family day, gimmick, shopping, detox day or just have a relaxing time. We wanted to go the cinema but too bad we can't bring along my 13-month-old nephew, he has to be 3 years old before they can finally let him in. So we decided to just watch movie at home anyway it's much cheaper this way. I popped some corns, got nuts, readied some iced colas and set the DVD player on with -- Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

The movie was totally funny, enjoyable and exciting. I must say the three baby dinosaurs were absolutely super cute and adorable while poor Diego was quite pitiful obviously getting old in the movie... All in all the movie was loads of fun and true enough the excitement never melts in Age Ice 3. :)

It's so hot here in Davao City right now with the temperature rising to over 31 degrees and would sometimes reach to almost 40. Adding to my discomfort, I also have to deal with a very bad internet connection. Whew! QB Tom Brady is Back this Season!

Fantastic moves, accurate passes, garnered the highest total passing touchdowns in a regular season breaking NFL record...that's Tom Brady of New England Patriots, and he is definitely my favorite player! His record of 50 touchdowns against only eight interceptions, has certainly made him the owner of the best ratio of touchdown-to-interception in NFL history among all players. He reached the peak of his career in year 2007 where he was named the NFL MVP for the season, as well as Offensive Player of the Year. Along these great achievements, he has brought the Patriots to an impressive winning streak.

I know he's got an awesome statistics to show off, some of which I don't even comprehend but the truth is I just love to watch him play and of course he is a certified HUNK! :) So who wouldn't love his pretty face? No wonder gorgeous Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen was swept off by his charms. But seriously, he's an excellent player. However, in September of 2008, Brady's left knee was badly injured during a game which brought him to the sidelines and was placed under injured reserve. I was deeply saddened by this because he wasn't able to play throughout the 2008 season. :(

Now, after nursing his injuries, going through surgery and the necessary rehabilitation process, Brady is back for this year's NFL Season! I just can't wait to see him back on the field and play once more. Together with other great hardworking players who will surely perform well namely Randy Moss and Wes Welker, both playing wide receivers and maintained excellent performances in the last season, they will surely have a powerful offense.
