Fredric's Birthday Bash

Yesterday we held Fredric's(my nephew) 1st birthday party. We've been preparing this special event for weeks now and at last it's finally here. Since it was a party for kids, naturally the place was packed with lots of kids. My mother brought out her special menus just for his beloved grandson. On my part, I helped out in preparing the goodies for the children and making the place festive as possible.

The party started at around four pm. We wanted to wait for the other guests but the kids were already restless and so eager to start the program. So when my cousin, ate Jennifer who is tasked for the program and games, finally arrived we set the party rolling. We started with serving the food then fired away the games. Of course the kids totally loved it. All of them were so competitive and really fighting to win in order to claim the prizes at stake. As we were having a great time, the good weather turned sour when suddenly a heavy rain poured in. It was such a total spoiler! We were having so much fun doing the games outdoor but because of the bad weather we were forced to stay inside and have the games there. Good thing the kids didn't mind it at all just as long the games continue. They were totally out to win the prizes.

All in all the event was a success. Despite the bad weather and with just the three of us, me, my sister and my mom who organized the party, it was still a blast. And most importantly my nephew had a wonderful time.

Welcome Home Sarah!

Some things just keep getting better with time. Just like my friendship with Sarah. She just recently got back from Singapore. She has been residing there for almost two years now and we haven't seen each other for quiet some time already. But when we got together like this afternoon, it seemed that we've never been apart. It was like those times when we were together in Taiwan. We talked endlessly from the juiciest topics to the most morbid ones. Well I guess that's a test of true friendship. It's when you can be true to yourself and say anything and everything to each other. And of course the best part of it is that she always has something for me whenever she comes home here in Davao.lol Thank you Sarah! I totally love you to pieces! lol

But seriously, I know she's having some crisis right now and badly needs to be unburdened with her current marriage. I just hope and pray that everything's going to turn out right and very soon she'll be able to settle her own problems.

Take Time to Have Fun with Your Family

My nephew's first ever birthday is fast approaching. Aside from busily preparing for his very special party which will be held this coming Saturday, we are also thinking of a nice private family activity to be attended by just close family members. An activity where we can all enjoy and have fun, especially my nephew. Something like a water activity is just what I have in mind.

Nowadays parents find it so hard to spend time with their kids especially those who have highly demanding careers or those who are working abroad. Sometimes they just take for granted that their families are always there. We can't blame them because life is hard and everybody has to work harder each time. However, we should not forget to think of our family's welfare. No matter how busy we are, we should always try our best to find quality time to spend with them.

Having fun family activities would never fail in bringing out special bonding relationship among family members. Going to a park, watching movies together, dine out or just having an outdoor activity like gardening would make a big difference. Parenting is never an easy task but it doesn't have to be a burden because there's always a way to enjoy it.

Multiplayer Billiards

It's really great to get yourself into an online game where there a lot of players who can participate. The thrill of beating your own friends is just as exciting. I'm talking about billiards. I'm not that good, in fact I'm a total wreck when in comes to actually playing the game. But I just simply love playing it online. Of course the site should be fast and user-friendly. And I just love 8c1.net. It's a multiplayer billiard game where you can get your friends involved in the game, have the chance to chat with them and create your own group. And best of all it's for FREE! Yes it's absolutely free.

So if you're as crazy as me in playing the pool check out this great site at multiplayer games,8c1.net.http://www.8c1.net. You will surely have a world of fun for FREE.

Jun Pyo's Embarrassing Moment

I am a certified fanatic of the famous Korean series entitled "Boys Over Flowers" which is currently running here in the Philippines. I just love the fast-paced story pattered with the original phenomenal Taiwan series, F4. And my favorite character is none other than the lead star, Gu Jun Pyo! He's such a cutie! lol Although I like him better with straight hair compared to what he has in the series.

Talking about his hairstyle, I just saw him from a video clip in YouTube with straight hair. He was walking along the red carpet, with millions of fans and reporters present. I was really appreciating his nice look when suddenly he tripped off faced down right in front of the many spectators. It was absolutely hilarious! My god! I can't imagine however did he got out of that most embarrassing situation. Poor Gu Jun Pyo, don't worry I'm still a fan of yours!

Real Property Management

It has been my wish to own a number of real properties someday. Not just for my own use but a means of getting an income. Like for example having a multi-unit apartment situated in the heart of the city and putting it up for rent. What an ideal type of business! My friend does exactly that. He owns a chain of apartment buildings and just sit around and wait for the income to come in. But of course it was not that easy to start with. He has to go through a lot of difficulties in managing his business. He has to consider looking for the right tenants, accounting of his finances, maintenance services, collections and a lot of other stuff he has to deal with in order to keep his business running smoothly. Wow that's a lot! To help you accomplish these you would definitely need the reliable service of Real Property Management (RPM).

Their company is the answer all the hassles in managing properties and efficiently takes care of tenant placement, affordable management fees with NO Leasing fees, credit and multi-state criminal background screening, regular property inspections, accounting, maintenance services, collections and a lot other things. So if you're in the business of renting some of your properties or just simply fed up of dealing your own properties just check out this site.

Newest Member in Our Family

Guess what?! we got the newest member in our family and she just officially resided with us today. She came in with a large wedge-shaped head, short smooth hair, big fangs and a wiggling tail... our newest pet, a Pit Bull dog. Her name is Manike, quiet an unusual name for a female dog but no one can argue with it because the owner just baptized her with that name. Anyway we got used to it and even enjoy calling her with that name. I must say, she's physically strong at three months of age. She's very playful and my nephew just simply adore her.

looks like he needs some fun...

don't worry Manike you'll have your walk later

just a few more shots and we'll really have your walk...promise! :)

doing some stretching..:)

To Manike, welcome to our family. Hope you'll be a good nice dog with all the trouble we had of acquiring you. I even got injured and had a small head cut from the roof of his new cage... So much for getting too excited to play with the dog, that's what I got.lol

Be Prepared

I am registered nurse here in Philippines and just recently I got my license as a US RN state of Vermont. I must admit I don't have enough clinical experience for now but I can proudly say I have acquired improved nursing skills throughout my days as a nursing student and as a staff nurse for eight months at the local private hospital here.

One of the most important things I learned being a nurse is to make yourself familiar with the hospital equipments and medical supplies because you will never really know when the situation will call for an immediate response which will require the use of such equipments or medical supplies. Just like what I experienced when I had my duty at the surgical ward and we had a code blue. Unfortunately that time, our nursing assistant was new at the ward and she wasn't familiar where the needed equipments were. It was such a difficult situation because as a nurse I had to see first the patient then I had to quickly get the needed equipments myself because the nursing assistant just don't know what to do. Good thing the other health care staff rushed in immediately to help after we called for a code. After we were able to stabilized the patient, I finally had a breather. I said to myself, I should have a word with our new nursing assistant because this can't happen again if ever a situation like this would occur again. Whew! What a day!

Talk About Weather and Arizona

I'm currently situated in Davao City, Philippines and just today we experienced a drizzle. I thought it was going to progress into a heavy rain but thankfully it didn't. After a short while the sun came out turning the weather into warm and sunny once again. The sky was clear without any signs of rain coming in...hmmm.... just what I needed. I am supposed to meet my friend later today to catch up with what has been happening in her life and talk about our future plans for our career. Our appointment to meet is actually long overdue because it's always postponed due to bad weather. I guess I should be prepared for more rainy days from now on because summer is over and rainy season is already setting in. Having said that, right now, I could really wish for more sunny days and mild temperature like the current weather in Arizona.

Arizona is popularly known for its beautiful high dessert landscapes. It is also a wonderful combination of untamed mountains in contrast to its very modern cities. This could be a great place to settle in for my family in future. Right now the temperature there is at 80 degrees. The weather condition in Arizona could highly vary depending on the area from dessert regions, mountain areas to canyon country. Therefore visitors should always be prepared for any climate change. As a whole Arizona has a nice weather condition with a lot of amazing sites to offer. One should never miss to visit this place or consider it for a place to settle in. If you are just about to do that or thinking of moving across from another state try to check out Scottsdale Fine Properties. They definitely have the best Arizona relocation services to offer.

Scottsdale Fine Properties is a top real estate service company which is dedicated to satisfying the needs of their clients. They focus on the luxury and executive home marketplace through their unique "One on OneTM" program to suit their clients' own needs. It also has a division which deals mainly with condo, second home, seasonal and investment buyers. One thing I find very satisfying with their service is the hassle-free rental process. If you are looking for a nice property for rent in Arizona or a vacation home management just check them out here. You could just be living your dream together with them

Nine Words Women Use

I think majority if not all women would agree that we basically have more patience than men. I doubt if any man would agree to this statement but as much as possible we control our temper and would try to avoid an argument. Is this really true??? Often times we use such words to hold our temper. But some men are just insensitive or too clueless to be able to read between the lines that we are about to explode. I received an email from a friend about words women often use when their on the verge of an argument. Here are the nine words, try to go through each word and I'm sure you're be able to relate and laugh based on your own experiences.

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

If men could only read between the lines and remember these words it would really help them to avoid an argument. Sometimes arguing is nice...especially after you patch things up. It's just normal in any relationship. It adds spice and gives you an opportunity to get to know more your partner. But when it goes on forever and happens too often you have to put a halt on it. Don't wait for it turn nasty because it'll make the relationship really sour. Please stop and by all means avoid another bout of argumentation.

New Shoes For Fredric

For weeks we have been scouting the malls to buy a new pair of shoes for my nephew, Fredric. He is celebrating his first ever birthday on the 26th of this month. We planned a birthday party just for him and as a celebrant of that event he has to have a complete new outfit for his very special day. He just acquired a new pair of pants and a checkered polo. A pair of new shoes was just missing. It took us four malls before we finally found the right shoe with the right fit for him. We almost gave up until today. Thank God we finally found the right one for him. Now everything is set for his big day. Advance happy birthday Fredric.

My Dream Furniture

If I were to be given a chance to choose my own furniture to grace my dream house without ever worrying about the budget, I would definitely choose one from top furniture designers. A furniture where design and functionality go together would just be perfect. And I have exactly one in mind, the Kenneth Cobonpue Collections. They are state of the art furniture made from indigenous materials like abaca, rattan, bamboo and many others. Here are some of his world-class creations I can just dream...

One thing I like most about his furniture is that they are very modern yet eco-friendly. They are made from natural materials and intricately crafted bringing out nature's best. They don't just give beauty and elegance but most of all comfort. Cobunpue is proudly Filipino and has gained a lot of recognitions locally and abroad. It is really my dream to own one of his creations.

the man behind all these wonderful creations...

Another selection I find really exquisite are those from classic designs such as the rustic furniture. They are also very elegant and close to nature giving you a sense of comfort and stress relief in a rustic way. You could pick one from a wide variety of furniture shops but I particularly love the collections from the Scenic Furniture. They have the loveliest furniture which will make you long to stay inside your house. Each item is totally a feast to the eyes. I absolutely love their rustic log bed. If you want to acquire one of their elegant pieces check out Scenic Furniture and you will surely find a treasure.

the bed is sooo inviting...I could just lie here forever....

Shifting Careers

Part of human nature is being never satisfied with what he has. It's true, like me I am never contented with my work, relationship and overall standing in life. I may be happy with what I do now but there's always something that I keep on searching.

Before, I used to work regularly at the office in the accounting department. My job was not that fascinating nor that rigorous but it was good because then I had a regular paycheck every 15th of the month. I could buy the things I want at the price I can afford and dine to some restaurants and pay for my own meal. But now after nursing, I'm all dependent to my sister and aunt who pays for my education.

I know that shifting careers is never easy. Nurses are really in demand all over abroad that's why I took chances and hoped to find a better life as a Nurse. From an accounting graduate I studied nursing. I took my exams, passed them and now I'm still hunting for a job. Which is not easy especially now with the recession and global financial crisis the world is undergoing.

Often times I feel frustrated like now because I feel trapped. Where do I go from here? I know I'm not the only one who's having this problem and I'm just thankful that my family and friends never fail to give their moral support or give me a push whenever I need it. I just need to be more patient and soon I know I'll reap all the hard labor I've done.

Must Have Bags

One of the things I love most are bags. Ever since I got fascinated with them I dreamed of owning ones which are elegant but trendy that I could wear with along my outfit. And today Sarah just showed me some really nice, elegant bags and offered it for sale. How I wish I have loads of cash right now so I could pick all of them. Here are some of my top choices that I wish to have.

Like jewelries and clothes, bags are one of the many things women simply adore and I am no exemption to this. I absolutely adore bags. I prefer those that are more functional but at the same time trendy. I would go for the big ones so I could put all my stuff in it and would not need to worry of carrying folders or important documents that wouldn't fit inside my bag. Bags are just as important because they can either make or break your total look. So if you're going to a very important affair or attend a prestigious event you should make sure that you have the right bag for the right outfit.

Congratulations Roger!

Roger Federer finally made it! He came out victorious and claimed his first ever French crown in the the Roland Garros 2009. I've been following his game and hoping he would really take it to the finals. And sure thing he did with flying colors. He even braved the rain and beaten down Robin Soderling to the finals!

You are simply the best. You gave a really good game each time. I enjoyed watching every moment of it. And I would still continue to watch the replays just to savor the fantastic moves you did which brought you to this championship. Congratulations Roger! I can't wait to see you claim your crown in Wimbledon.

It was really heartbreaking to the fans of Rafael Nadal, the World's No. 1, that he didn't even make it to the semis and was thrown by Soderling who is just No.23. I thought he would be waiting in line again during the finals but very unfortunate for him he didn't make it. I guess he was just not his best at that time and needs to rest for a while after being a four-time champion. On the other hand, Roger just had a wonderful time and got a golden opportunity to once again prove he's still on top. Once again congratulations Roger!

Best Wishes Agirl & Carl

Finally Marie Girl Costan and Carlo Señase tied the knots yesterday at San Isidro Parish Church. It was a solemn ceremony participated by their relatives and some close friends. The church was simply but elegantly decorated with white flowers. And the most beautiful woman that day was none other than the blooming bride Marie Girl, our dear friend. Their wonderful union was even blessed with rain that soon came to a halt right after the ceremony.

Mr. & Mrs. Carlo Señase

preparing to kiss the bride...please save some for the honeymoon...lol

me & jing (friends of the bride)

at the reception

The reception was held at Buffet Palace where the venue was elaborately donned with various shades of flowers accentuated with fancy decorations where the changing color of lights beautifully played with it. The total effect was quiet fantastic, I must say. But the most beautiful part of it was when the groom serenaded the bride. It really helps a lot when you're gifted with a good voice like Carlo. It completely made the moment totally romantic. I also liked the part when the bride's eldest brother, Arvin, gave a very touching message although a bit funny. It was really a moment to treasure and to become part of their meaningful union was something I'll never forget. Best wishes to you both! Hope you'll have little Agirl and Carlo very soon.

Bridal Shower for Agirl

We've been planning to give a bridal shower party for our dear friend Agirl who's getting married on the 3rd of June. However we've been so busy lately that the original date was postponed till last Saturday. And thankfully, we were able to pushed through with it even with the absence of our other close friends.

I was not sure if it's really going to happen that day because we actually didn't have a concrete plan for the event. My friend Jinky was assigned for the program and I must applaud her for taking the task considering her very busy schedule. Mind you she works in an accounting department at the same, she's also a nursing student. As for me, I had to skip the planning part because I was out of town for my NCLEX exam. Agirl's sister Irene was really the one who made it all possible because she was the one who took the initiative and contacted all of us to make the event possible.

The party was held at World Palace in Safari room. There were only few of us there, not surprising because some of our friends have already left for abroad like Shiela and some opted to work outside Davao City. Although there were only few of us present, we still had a wonderful time. Our goal to surprise Agirl was accomplished. She was totally clueless of the party and really had no idea about it until she got there. So you can just imagine her loud scream when she finally found out. She even scanned the room for the macho dancer who might be hiding inside. We got her into "hot seat" and fired her with some juicy questions that if she fails to answer them correctly she would have to suffer for the consequence...strip off piece by piece everything she wears..lol. Hope she wore layers of clothes. Well good for her she was able to answer most of the questions and just stripped off her two rings and a pair of earrings.

Despite the time constraints and some problems we encountered, we really had a great time. The sad part was just that there were only three of us who paid for the place. How I wished Shiela and Blong were there to help out. :(
